MET Encourages Parking Attendants To Earn NVQ - February 2010
MET is encouraging all its Parking Attendants to earn National Vocational Qualifications (NVQ’s). These are work related awards that reflect a person’s skill, knowledge and competence in a specific area. MET’s goal is to have the entire enforcement team qualified by the end of the year. An ambitious goal, but the response so far has been very encouraging and a big boost to morale.
Snow Brings UK to a Halt - January 2010
news imageMany parts of the country suffered heavy snowfall this year, resulting in difficult driving and parking conditions. MET Parking Services supported drivers in the affected areas by temporarily suspending its parking control systems and helping drivers rescue cars that were buried in up to four feet of snow.

Our ANPR camera systems were enlisted to provide live monitoring of car park weather conditions in order to help our clients make daily, sometimes hourly, travel and parking decisions for their staff and customers.
IPP Gains New Members - December 2009
news imageAll employees of MET Parking Services have been enrolled as members of the IPP (Institute of Parking Professionals) as part of a trial membership scheme designed to raise awareness of both the British Parking Association and the IPP for those working in the industry. During this six month trial, members will receive regular ezine updates, a copy of the newsletter, full access to the website and access to the IPP LinedIn group.

The IPP was formed by the British Parking Association for the purpose of encouraging education and training, thus promoting high standards of skill and integrity among the professionals engaged in the parking industry. Through the IPP website, members have the opportunity to network with online communities and have access to the IPP Knowledge Hub, which is a library of useful resources, presentations and links to partner organisations. MET is proud to be a part of this initiative, whose ultimate purpose is to help raise the standards in our industry.
MET Introduces Designer Signage - November 2009
One of the challenges in running an effective car park is clearly communicating the Terms
and Conditions of Use of the car park to its patrons. With this in mind, MET took the
radical approach of enlisting the talents of a local design firm to redesign all of MET’s
signage. Through the use of colour, contrast and varied type, the designers have created
an eye catching new design that better communicates the rules governing the use of a
private car park. MET firmly believes in the value of clear and accurate communication as
it is clear that parking patrons who understand the rules are much more likely to abide by
them.
