Maximum Stay

A Maximum Stay parking management scheme is very popular in retail environments and is often used for visitors in a residential car park. A customer or visitor is allowed to park with or without a parking charge for a specified period of time, after which, they must leave the car park to make room for other vehicles.

In order to be most effective, this system is often accompanied by a Restricted Return policy, whereby a vehicle is not allowed to return to the same car park within a specified period of time. These Terms of Use are clearly stated on signage throughout the car park and are traditionally monitored by an on-site attendant. More recently,

ANPR (Automatic Number Plate Recognition) technology has been successfully employed to

monitor compliance. This system is most effective in a high-traffic car park whereefficient

vehicle turnover is paramount.
