Pay by Phone

Pay by Phone is a system whereby the customer can pay for parking over the phone using their credit or debit card. The service is fully automated and the motorist has the choice of making the transaction either by calling the number promoted on the signage or by sending a text. This service can be installed as a standalone system, but it is usually offered in conjunction with a Pay and Display system. The instructions are clearly displayed on both the Pay and Display ticketing machines and on prominent signage in the car park.

The registration/transaction process can take less than two minutes. A Pay by Phone service offers
all the advantages of a Pay and Display system, plus the following additional features:

• Differing tariffs for different days or times of the week.
  
• Minute based, hourly, weekly and seasonal parking.
  
• Motorists can purchase time in advance of the parking charge period.
  
• Discounted parking arrangements for residents.
  
• Prevention of meter feeding (if required).
